Rotary Club of Nelson West will be

amalgamating with Rotary Club of Nelson from July 1st 2026.

Our club was formed in 1966 and has served

the Nelson community for the last 60 years.

Our club organises the Boulder Bank Walk each year, and through our fundraising efforts we support the Nelson Food Bank, Coastguard, Nelson Hospice and other local organisations.

We also contribute to international projects, including ShelterBox and Polio Plus,

Boulder Bank Walk

Every year in March we run the Boulder Bank Walk enabling people of all ages to explore this Nelson icon.

We transport participants by bus to the start of the walk and bring them back from the Cut by boat.
A lot of families join us and help to pick up rubbish that builds along the coast.
The old lighthouse is open for the day and you can learn the history and climb to the top for a stunning view.
Funds raised on the day go to local organisations and the Rotary Foundation.

Getting from the car park to the reception area at Nelson Hospital can be a daunting task if you are elderly or have a disabilitiy.

So our Rotary Club came up with the idea of having a buggy to help those people in need.

The latest model cost just over $25,000 of which $5,000 was funded by Nelson West Rotary Club.

A team of rostered volunteers is on duty everyday.
