Light and view from top of lighthouse
Update 16 March:
Boulder Bank walk now on Sunday 19 March. Forecast looking great for this Sunday. Still tickets available at Knapps Lawyers, Stoke Garden & Landscape and TSB Bank. Get them in advance to get the departure time you want and avoid disappointment.
Those who are unable to attend on 19 March can return the tickets to the original vendor for a full refund, or can consider the tickets a donation to Coastguard. We apologise for any inconvenience, but we want everyone to enjoy this event!
Our 8th annual Boulder Bank Walk is happening on Sunday
12 March 2017 (now 19 March). Don’t miss it!
We take you from Wakefield Quay by bus to the end of Boulder Bank Drive, you walk the 9 km back to the Cut, and we bring you back by boat.
One of the baches on the Boulder Bank
Along the way you can go by the baches (owners have been known to offer you a cuppa and give you a peek inside), go up to the top of the lighthouse, listen to speakers on the history of ‘the Bank’ and see Nelson from a different perspective. We also have a barbecue going at the lighthouse so you don’t get too hungry–be sure to bring some cash to buy something to eat.
Kirsty – Job done!
Buses depart from Guyton’s carpark on Wakefield Quay at 8:15, 9:00 and 9:45 am. The “boat-both-ways” option is available at 10:30 and 11:00. Some tickets will be available on the day, but best to get tickets in advance to get the departure time you want. In any case, please arrive at least 10 minutes prior, and allow extra time if parking your car (Guyton’s carpark is P120, so not suitable).
Again this year, we have a discounted $12 ticket for children 14 years & under to make it more attractive for the whole family. Standard tickets remain at $20. Our ticket sellers are
Knapps Lawyers, Richmond (Mon-Fri)
TSB Bank, Trafalgar St, Nelson (Mon-Sat noon)
Stoke Garden & Landscapes, Saxton Road (7 days)
Or order by email: [email protected]
If you don’t get to our ticket outlets, you can check our Facebook page to see if we have tickets available on the day. Be sure to bring sunscreen, a parka, sturdy shoes, water bottle and a hat.
In the event of bad weather, the postponement date is 19 March. Refunds will be available for ticketholders who cannot attend on that date.
Funds raised go to support Nelson Coastguard and other Rotary charities.
